Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch has secured the endorsement of a national pro-life women’s group as she competes in the upcoming recall elections that could threaten the pro-life agenda in the Badger State.
Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Rebecca Kleefisch for the June 5 recall election.
“Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch has proved she is a strong advocate for Life and the pro-life taxpayers of Wisconsin,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Thanks to her leadership along with Governor Walker and the pro-life state legislature, Wisconsin has defunded Planned Parenthood of more than a million dollars.”
Dannenfelser added, “We are proud to endorse her for reelection so that she may continue to serve the unborn and women of Wisconsin.”
A reporter and news anchor for WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Kleefisch left television to focus on her family. A pro-life advocate, she was endorsed by Pro-Life Wisconsin, Wisconsin Right to Life, and Wisconsin Family PAC when she first ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2010.
At the 2011 Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference, Lt. Governor Kleefisch joined Dannenfelser to discuss efforts to defund America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, and protect unborn children and women. Kleefisch stated, “We need to renew our commitment to protect the unborn. We need to renew our commitment to protect our most vulnerable citizens.”
With most of the country focused on primary elections, pro-life advocates in Wisconsin are gearing up for a critical June recall election of pro-life Governor Scott Walker, pro-life Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and several pro-life State Senators. While the impetus for the recall stems from left-wing opposition to Governor Scott Walker’s policies regarding collective bargaining and public employee benefits, there is much at stake for unborn children.

Since Governor Walker took office in January 2011, the pro-life movement in Wisconsin has made monumental gains. Walker signed into law a state budget that included a provision to prohibit the UW Hospital Authority from being involved in performing abortions and from using taxpayer dollars to pay medical students to learn how to perform abortions. Walker steered Wisconsin Well Woman funds to local counties instead of Planned Parenthood.
Governor Walker is also expected to sign bills that allow Wisconsin to opt out of abortion funding under Obamacare, to protect pregnant women from coerced abortions and to prohibit RU 486 chemical web cam abortions.
Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin and their allies are using the recall election as a chance to undo these advances.
Scott Walker’s life-saving work as Governor has earned him the praise of Wisconsin Right to Life, the state’s largest pro-life organization.
