Arkansans Against Planned Parenthood Combats Abortion Biz Expansion

In June, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland (PPH), a large and very aggressive affiliate, announced it would be opening a dozen new facilities in Iowa and Nebraska in addition to the abortion clinics it already operated in these Midwestern states. One month later PPH announced it was absorbing Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. Pro-life Arkansans have a right to be concerned. PPH is the most aggressive proponent of the very dangerous “web-cam abortions.”
But now pro-life Arkansans have a clear plan for action against this encroaching abortion giant thanks to a new coalition of pro-life groups called Arkansans Against Planned Parenthood.
This coalition was started by Arkansas Right to Life, the oldest and largest pro-life organization in the state and the most trusted voice for the most vulnerable Arkansans.
A month ago, Arkansas Right to Life Executive Director Rose Mimms and NRLC President  Carol Tobias held a joint press conference in Little Rock to warn the general public of what to expect once Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma had been absorbed by Iowa-based PPH.
People took notice and Arkansas Right to Life sprang into action.
The coalition has already begun their drive to keep their state grassroots activists well-informed of the aggressive expansion of PPH. You can find the coalition on Facebook.
Arkansans Against Planned Parenthood plans to expand the campaign into series of newsletter available for publication by all the members of the coalition to be send to their respective bases.  This dispersal ensures that the facts reach the widest audience possible.
They have quite a task ahead of them, exposing Planned Parenthood as America’s biggest abortion provider (over 332,000 annually)who continues to increase its share of the abortion-performing market at the expense of innocent lives.
But Arkansas Right to Life has had great success in overcoming pro-abortion forces in the past.  In 1998, they managed to get the North Little Rock City Council to rescind a grant it had awarded to Planned Parenthood. And in 2008 Arkansas Right to Life blocked expansion of PP’s services in Hot Springs through an aggressive educational campaign.
This experience paired with the most dedicated and agile grassroots activists in the state will prove formidable to the abortion peddlers entering the state of Arkansas.
