A Catholic hospital in Colorado will face protests next Thursday by pro-life advocates who are upset that it has in its employment an abortion practitioner who works at Planned Parenthood.

Members of the local pro-life group Lifeguard will be joined by Lila Rose, the national pro-life advocate who has exposed abuses at Planned Parenthood such as covering up cases of sexual abuse of minors and aiding sex traffickers in getting abortions for the girls on which they prey. They will be protesting at Catholic hospital Mercy Regional Medical Center, which currently employs abortion practitioner Richard Grossman.

The protest will take place next Thursday, along with a press conference announcing more about the background of the relationship between Grossman and Mercy. The event will take place at 1010 Three Springs Blvd. in Durango, Colorado, outside of the entrance to Mercy Regional Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. local time.

“The fact that Mercy Hospital allows Dr. Grossman, the local Planned Parenthood abortionist, to maintain his private practice on hospital grounds is a scandal and an outrage,” Rose said in a statement to LifeNews today.

She added, “No hospital should promote so-called doctors who make their living off of killing defenseless pre-born children, and a Catholic hospital should know better. Mercy Hospital should immediately sever all ties with Dr. Grossman and evict him from their premises, and if not, the Archdiocese of Denver must intervene to end Mercy Hospital’s cooperation with the abortion industry.”

Rose’s joining LifeGuard, a local pro-life group that, since 2006, has been dedicated to helping women considering abortions, has her on the same page as other national pro-life advocates who have condemned the relationship between Grossman and Mercy. Father Fessio, Founder of Ignatius Press, American Life League president Judie Brown, star of “Bella” Eduardo Verastegui, Walter Hoye, Jason Jones of I Am Whole Life, and Joe Scheidler of the Prolife Action League are some of the other pro-life advocates have spoken out against the ties.

Grossman has also offended pro-life advocates by saying, “The reason I perform abortions is because I’m a Christian”

Mercy Regional Medical Center is a Catholic Hospital located in Durango Colorado and was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1882 and Grossman is its longest-serving physician.

“Grossman is a man who for years has had the luxury of making a living at a Catholic Hospital in the field of Obstetrics/Gynecology, delivering hundreds of babies over the course of his long career. However, as a result of his presence in the Four Corners region of Colorado thousands of babies have also been murdered by Grossman at Planned Parenthood, where he works one day a week as an abortionist,” a protest web site says.

It adds: “While Mercy Hospital claims it is in full compliance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services Directives, one can easily see that Directive #45 states “Catholic health care institutions are not to provide abortion services, even based upon the principle of material cooperation. In this context, Catholic health care institutions need to be concerned about the danger of scandal in any association with abortion providers.”
