Abby Johnson was named an employee of the year in 2008 when she was the director of a Planned Parenthood abortion business in southeast Texas, but the recent pro-life convert will tell all in a new webcast.

Launched in conjunction with her new book Unplanned, Johnson will tell the shocking, moving story of her conversion from Planned Parenthood abortion facility director in a webcast on Monday night.

Johnson’s story is well-known to pro-life advocates — normally a  business manager who directed the financial and profit-making portion of the abortion business, she is asked to assist in an abortion that she finds revolting and ultimately persuades her to become pro-life. But she will reveal new insights into the operations of the Planned Parenthood abortion business during the webcast.

Johnson almost didn’t have the opportunity to shed light on the inner workings of the company that made over $1 billion in each of the last two years and does more than one-quarter of all abortions in the United States. She fought and won a legal battle against her former employer, which sued Johnson and sought a restraining order to keep her silent about her years with the organization – including time as director of the Byran, Texas facility.

Johnson will talk about that court battle – part of Planned Parenthood’s furious reaction to her decision to literally “cross the fence” and quit her job to join local and national pro-life efforts. She’ll also detail what the legal fight brought to light about Planned Parenthood’s real agenda. She’ll talk about how she got involved in the organization while still in college and Planned Parenthood’s confidential plans to expand its biggest money-maker – abortion – across America.

Shawn Carney, a close friend of Johnson’s from the 40 Days for Life group who prayed for Johnson and helped her with her pro-life conversion, talked more about the upcoming webcast.

“Johnson will finally be able to reveal all the secrets from behind the closed doors of the abortion business … and why she left to join the pro-life movement,” he said. “Planned Parenthood immediately filed a massive lawsuit and restraining order against Abby (and me) with the intent to silence her. But we finally won that legal battle, and Abby is now able to blow the whistle on her former employer and reveal ALL the shocking details of her experiences inside the abortion industry … and her conversion.”

“Six 40 Days for Life campaigns were conducted outside her workplace before Abby experienced a profound conversion during the Fall 2009 campaign … and literally walked into my office with deep remorse to tell me she wanted out of the abortion business,” he recalled. “Planned Parenthood immediately filed a massive lawsuit and restraining order against Abby (and me) with the intent to silence her.”

The webcast is free, and those who register can download the full text of UnPlanned’s first chapter in advance. In only eight of the book’s 268 pages, Johnson reveals in that first chapter the shocking discovery that suddenly caused her to question everything Planned Parenthood had told her over eight years as a volunteer, then full-time employee.
