Planned Parenthood Uses Sexual Assault Exams to Boost Abortion Business

A Planned Parenthood watchdog group says it is installing sexual assault examination suites in newly-begun abortion facilities in order to boost its abortion business.

However, Jim Sedlack of Stop Planned Parenthood says Planned Parenthood is the last place women victimized by sexual assault or abuse should turn since the abortion business has a history of covering up such cases by doing abortions and failing to report them to authorities.

“As Planned Parenthood continues its massive expansion of its abortion business while phasing out those centers that do not commit surgical or medical abortions, we have seen two recent instances of the abortion profiteer promoting sexual assault exam suites,” Sedlack said in a report last week. “[They] are being incorporated into the design of its new centers, one in Nebraska and one in Iowa.”

But Sedlack points to a recent Ohio case as a prime reason Planned Parenthood should not be the first choice for helping such women.

A state judge ruled earlier this month that a Cincinnati Planned Parenthood abortion business rushed an abortion it did on a 14-year-old girl who was a victim of sexual abuse. The case was brought by parents whose minor daughter had an abortion at a Planned Parenthood facility without their knowledge after being sexually abused by her adult coach.

The parents allege that Planned Parenthood failed to comply with the statute requiring reports of known or suspected child abuse as well as Ohio’s parental consent statute. Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Jody Luebbers agreed.

“In light of the Ohio charges against Planned Parenthood in child sexual assault cases and all the evidence produced by pro-life groups proving that Planned Parenthood refuses to follow the law in cases of sexual abuse, is it a good idea to entrust Planned Parenthood as an exam center for victims of sexual assault?” Sedlack asked.

The watchdog says Planned Parenthood has another motivation in opening sexual assault exam rooms — taking business away from legitimate medical centers that will not provide potentially abortifacient drugs.

“Certainly, if Planned Parenthood can establish itself as ‘the’ exam center in a community for victims of sexual assault, it will no longer have to fight the many hospitals that do not prescribe the abortifacient ’emergency contraceptives’ that Planned Parenthood hawks,” he said. “It will have the girls and women in its clutches from the beginning and can rest assured that any child conceived by rape or incest will die for the sins of his or her father.”

Sedlack also says Planned Parenthood is likely moving ahead with the sexual assault exams in order to benefit from massive government funding under the ObamaCare legislation.

“Planned Parenthood leaves no stone unturned in dredging up money to build its facilities and expand its abortion business,” he explained. “ObamaCare earmarks $11 billion for expansion of community health centers.”

“It is time to inundate our elected representatives with the message that we must defund and repeal ObamaCare and that no government funds should ever flow to Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest abortion chain,” he concluded.
