Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — A Seattle mother is furious after learning the health clinic at her daughter’s high school arranged a secret abortion for her minor daughter without her knowledge or consent. The mother, known only as Jill in news reports, says the health clinic is compounding the situation by keeping information confidential.

Jill signed consent forms for her daughter, who attends Ballard High School, that she thought would allow her to go to the clinic for a headache or other minor problems.

Little did she know the clinic would set up a secret abortion resulting in the death of her grandchild.

"She took a pregnancy test at school at the teen health center," Jill told KOMO News. "Nowhere in this paperwork does it mention abortion or facilitating abortion."

The incident, "Makes me feel like my rights were completely stripped away," she said.

Jill says the health clinic gave her daughter, who is reportedly pro-life, a pass and was put in a taxi to get an abortion during school hours.

"We had no idea this was being facilitated on campus," Jill told KOMO. "They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility."

The news outlet indicates the Seattle School District doesn’t run the health clinic and that it is operated by Swedish Medical Center.

Dan Kennedy, the head of Human Life of Washington, a statewide pro-life group, commented on the case in an email to LifeNews.com.

"Unfortunately, this is legal in WA. Most parents aren’t aware of this. We have tried unsuccessfully every year to get parental notification laws passed in the state of WA. The Democrats control both chambers and the Governor’s office, so parental notification gets buried in committee, never to see the light of day – like the unborn child in this story," he said.
