Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Four actors form the acclaimed television series Law and Order: Criminal Intent have recorded a new video endorsing the nation’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. They specifically endorse its efforts to force Americans to pay for abortions in a government-run health care plan.

Actors Eric Bogosian, Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Julianne Nicholson lend their faces, voices and names to the pro-abortion effort.

"Americans were promised that, under health care reform, no one would lose benefits we currently have. So why should women be left behind?" the actors say.

Their comments fly in the face of the language of the current bills in Congress, where the Senate measure actually changes currently law (the Hyde amendment) and makes it so taxpayers are required to pay for abortions unless their states opts out of abortion funding.

The actors continue: "The majority of insurance plans cover abortion care. The new health care system will make it harder for millions of women to purchase private health care insurance that covers abortions. This would be the most devastating restriction to abortion since Roe v. Wade."

Again, the Law and Order actors peddle incorrect information as research shows less than half of current health care plans cover abortions.

The actors all take turns saying their names and endorsing Planned Parenthood in the remainder of the video saying they "support Planned Parenthood" and "Planned Parenthood supports me."

They endorsed the group’s political action committee and provide a web site address that leads to a Planned Parenthood web site pushing abortion funding in health care.

The student group Live Action, which has released undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood misleading clients on abortion and fetal development and covering up cases of potential sexual abuse, is urging pro-life advocates to contact the actors with their disappointment over the Planned Parenthood endorsement.

Live Action spokesman David Schmidt says he’s upset the Law and Order actors "teamed up with Planned Parenthood to advocate for taxpayer funded abortions in this new ad."

"And what do the American people think about taxpayer funded abortions?" he asked. He points to a Quinnipiac University opinion poll showing 72 percent said they oppose allowing abortions to be paid for with public funds under any new health care system created by the government.
